Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • hand mixer or spatula
  • cutting board
  • knife
  • serving bowl

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp pickle juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 pinch salt (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 tbsp finely diced onion (optional)

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream.
Beat until smooth, creamy, and free of lumps.
  • Add the chopped dill pickles, pickle juice, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
    Stir until evenly combined.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more pickle juice for extra tang or a thinner consistency.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld and the dip to thicken.

Notes

For best texture, finely chop the pickles so they distribute evenly. Adjust pickle juice to control tanginess and consistency. Chill before serving for a thicker, more scoopable dip. This recipe tastes even better after a few hours in the fridge as the flavors meld.
